Box Hall of the United Kingdom began developing and producing automobiles in 1903, and became a subsidiary of GM in the U.S. in 1925; they began producing various buses and trucks under the Bedford brand in 1930. Development of the QL series began in 1939, as a military three-ton four-wheel-drive truck, and production began in 1941. By 1945, more than 50,000 of each type had been produced and contributed to the Allied victory
