The combination of a highly detailed body and a 4x4 chassis with thoroughly improved off-road performance opens up new horizons for play.
The palm-sized R/C car series "MINI-Z" celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2019. The MINI-Z series has now reached a new starting point, and in order to further develop, a new series has been born with a completely new design that aims to achieve the "ultimate sense of scale". Its name is "MINI-Z 4x4". The MINI-Z is known for its high driving performance, but one of its attractions is its high-quality injection body that exudes a sense of scale. The MINI-Z 4x4's greatest feature is the detailing that emphasizes decoration that goes beyond the conventional MINI-Z bodies.
The body is also made thicker to ensure crash resistance. On the other hand, the 4WD chassis uses a ladder frame similar to the real car, boasting a long stroke, and is equipped with upper A-arms and a 3-link rigid axle suspension, and a high-torque steering servo exclusively for the MINI-Z 4x4. It is not only capable of normal driving, but also has the ability to easily clear rough roads with obstacles reminiscent of rock crawling fields. The dedicated 130 motor with excellent torque characteristics at low to mid-speed further enhances the driving performance of the MINI-Z 4x4.
The MINI-Z 4x4 combines a visually stunning, highly detailed body with driving performance that takes full-scale rock crawling into consideration, and all you need to purchase separately before you can use it is eight AAA alkaline batteries, which is very convenient! You can enjoy driving it as is, try your hand at rock crawling, aim to improve driving performance, or dress it up to look great... With a wide range of play options, why not try embodying the world of full-scale 4x4 with this one car?
- The same full-scale solid axle link as the 1/10 scale model ensures the necessary running performance and wheel travel for a crawler model.
- Uses a specially set high-torque 130 motor. The main gear unit is also equipped with a slipper clutch that protects the drive system by releasing torque when high load is applied.
- Uses a high-torque servo designed specifically for crawler models, allowing for full-scale crawling driving. The optimized steering link also achieves the largest turning angle in the history of the MINI-Z.
- Full bearing specifications with a total of 18 ball bearings. Metal gears with excellent durability are used in areas that are subject to load.
- The KT-531P transmitter uses an FHSS 2.4GHz system, and the steering wheel is made of sponge for improved operability.
- Completely assembled product with bindings already installed. Simply insert batteries and you're ready to go.
- The optional light set (MZW429R) can be attached to the top of the base. The headlights light up according to throttle operation, and the transmitter trim can be used to adjust the headlight interval from steady to flashing.
- Compatible with the separately sold gyro unit (MZW446), and like the RWD/AWD series, manual adjustment is possible using the volume.
- The tires are also equipped with the popular BS Goodrich.
This is a GR (Gazoo Racing) model of the world-famous SUV. The suspension has been strengthened and advanced electronic controls are used to further improve the off-road performance that the standard model excels at. The front bumper and grille are exclusive to the GR Sports model.
The MINI-Z 4x4 packs the same mechanisms as 1/10 scale off-road models, such as a ladder frame and linked rigid axle suspension, into the MINI-Z size.
The MINI-Z 4x4 uses a ladder frame (made of steel), which is used in many full-scale cross-country models. By carefully balancing this with the various plastic parts, the chassis rigidity is optimized for driving.

Link-type front and rear solid axle suspension suspended from a ladder frame. Metal gears are used in areas subject to load while driving to ensure durability in tough driving situations.
The widest steering angle in the history of the MINI-Z has been achieved, and the smallest turning radius has been achieved through appropriate Ackermann settings. This makes it suitable not only for normal driving, but also for full-scale rock crawling.
Another major topic about the Mini-Z 4x4 is that it uses vehicle-specific tires and wheels.
Metal gears are used in areas subject to high loads to ensure durability.
Unlike previous MINI-Z series motors, it uses a high-torque 130 motor with specifications exclusive to the MINI-Z 4x4 that provides powerful driving even at low speeds.
The full ball bearing specification uses metal ball bearings in all bearing parts, which makes the rotational drive parts move smoother than with plastic bearings and helps reduce drive loss.
